WHAT HAPPENED?
The England captain had a starring role in that 3-0 victory, scoring a brace as Bayern overturned a first-leg shock to proceed to the quarter-finals. During the typical post-match duties with the team, Kane was asked whether he had been on the phone to Carragher in the week – as the former Liverpool defender had claimed. And the 30-year-old brutally admitted that this was a "lie", leaving Carragher to quickly backtrack in a hilarious exchange.

WHAT WAS SAID
Asked by host Kate Abdo whether Carragher's phone call story was true or false, Kane frankly replied: "That is false, sorry Jamie!"
Carragher exclaimed in response: "H, don't do this to me! I'm telling everyone in America that we're friends, that we've got a great relationship. I can't believe you've just done that to me!"
A slightly stuttering Kane offered as a reply: "We are friends but, you know, I'm not going to lie on national TV."
Kane later revealed that he doesn't even have the former Liverpool man's number and that they exchange messages on Twitter, to which Abdo replied: "That's not friends!"

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Another impressive Kane performance means he takes his goal tally up to an incredible 33 strikes in 33 appearances for Bayern this term. He also notched his 50th and 51st European goals on Tuesday night, taking him above Chelsea legend Didier Drogba (50) in the continental all-time scoring charts. Those goals helped secure Bayern's safe passage to the Champions League quarter-finals which, given Bayer Leverkusen's 10-point stronghold on the Bundesliga, may end up being Kane's best way of ending his trophy drought.
